Man Found Dead Inside A Well In Lagos

Early this morning July 29th, a man was found dead head down inside a well (pictured above) with his slippers beside the well in a house at Akanyn street, Shibiri Rd, Ilemba in Ojo, Ajangbadi, Lagos.

Many residents of the house had fetched water from the well and even made use of the water before someone discovered there was a corpse inside it. When he was eventually pulled from the well, he was recognized as someone who lived around..a carpenter whose wife recently left him. Some people claimed to have seen him the previous day, very drunk. No one knew how he fell into the well.

A source told us that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ojo division and Ajangbadi police were contacted and they came to remove the corpse and took it away for fuurther investigation.

Latest Update On The Ebola Virus In Lagos

Briefing newsmen today, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina said the Liberian man being tested for the Ebola Virus is currently at a private hospital in Obalende, Lagos. She said the man has been isolated and the hospital vicinity cordoned off and that 30 other people are also being tested for possible contact with the deadly virus.

Dr Adeshina warned residents to;

  “keep personal and environmental     hygiene” and urged those who notice               “strange feeling or symptoms similar to those of Ebola virus, which ranges from          fever, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sore throat and joint pains, which are all symptoms of other ailments, to visit competent health facilities”.

Actress Stephanie Okereke Linus just shared behind-the-scene pics of a Hollywood movie she's currently shooting in the US. The actress plays Doris, a lady whose generation were slaves from Nigeria. The movie is set in 1906 and is titled BoonVille Redemption. Stephanie said the movie borders on forgiveness, truth, redemption, love & everyone was treated equally in the movie without racial barriers.

How do you feel about being back on set after being absent for quite a while?
I am very excited. It hasn't been a long absence. I just finished shooting some episodes for my upcoming Reality TV Show – "Make Me Fabulous". However, this is a Western movie and I’m very glad to be among the cast. It’s something different, it’s a faith based movie and it’s really something I’d love to do. 

What is your role in the movie?
I play the role of Doris, a lady from the second generation of slave trade in America whose parents came from Nigeria. Doris is no longer a slave and she lives with her Uncle in this community where people are not judged by their race or colour. She is a strong compassionate woman who forms a bond with a young girl, Melinda, who grew up not knowing her father. Doris plays the role of convincing her Uncle to reveal the truth to this young girl about her father’s whereabouts. She also helps take care of Miss Mary, Melinda's grandmother when she was ill and sheltered a young boy who had no place to stay.

Where is the movie being shot?
The movie is shot in Los Angeles,USA.

What else brings you to Los Angeles?
Not only am I acting in this movie, I am currently doing post-production for my soon to be released movie, DRY which I’m also very excited about.

Lecturer Commits Suicide........

A lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Dr Bede Opata has reportedly committed suicide over a yet-to-be ascertained reason, Thisday reports.
 
Sources within the university say the 38 year old law lecturer killed himself in his apartment within the town on Saturday July 19th but his body was only discovered on Sunday July 20th.
 
The lecturer who holds a doctorate degree in Law, hailed from Nsukka, Enugu state and was the son of a former Commissioner in the old Anambra state, Chief Cletus Opata.

Oby Ezekwesili Detained And Later Released By SSS @ Abuja Airport

Former Minister of Education and #bringbackourgirls convener Obi Ezekwesili, was this morning detained by SSS agents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as she tried to leave the country for London.

Mrs Ezekwesili immediately took to twitter to announce her detention. She said she was heading to London to appear on the BBC Hardtalk programme but was prevented from boarding her flight by security operatives who confiscated passport. She was later released and allowed to board her 8a.m British Airways flight. See her tweets after the cut...
