She is Ashionye Edike Charity, populaly called ASHNY. She hails from Ndokwa West LGA of Delta State. Born on 14th Oct. **** in Lagos, Nigeria. She is from a family of 10, excluding her parent and represents the seventh child.

BEYOND THE SONG STRESS, WHO IS ASHNY?
My name is Ashionye Edike Charity and Am from Delta State, Ndokwa West. Am from a family of ten excluding my parent and am the  seventh child. Am very observant and I like meeting interesting people.

HOW WAS  YOUR CHILDHOOD?
My childhood was tough, very tough. My mum was a trader then, and I started selling with her as far back as I can remember. My childhood was quite rough but I thank God for always being there.

HOW DID YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
Music has always being my thing. I love music...funny enough, I believe music is in love with me also cause of the synergy when I sing. Music and I are one, It's like blood that runs through my vein. Without music, there will be no Ashny. Music make me go...

ASIDE MUSIC, WHAT ELSE CAN WE FIND YOU DOING?
Business. Am into the buying and selling business to keep the hustle up. Its not easy for an upcoming act like myself without sponsor or a Record label, I have to think and hustle my way up!

WHEN DID YOU START MUSIC ?
I started music when I was seven, that was when I knew I had it inside. I also wrote my first song at the age of seven.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN MUSIC?
The Future...the things I hope will happen and the things I really want for myself are the things that inspires me. My environment also and the people around me at any point in time. Nature and of course ME!

WHICH OF THE ESTABLISHED ACT OR CELEBRITY WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH?
2face baba...boss I hail you, Olamide, Asa, Wizkid, Davido, Phyno etc. Tried doing something with Reminisce earlier but it didn't work out, am still on it tho.

HOW DO YOU WRITE YOUR SONG? DO YOU WRITE IT YOURSELF OR YOU HAVE A SONG WRITER?
I write my songs myself and sometimes with my crew.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Singing of course. Dancing, watching movies. And am also very playful.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
After my studio sessions, I hang out with my management crew, my sis and sometimes with friends.

ARE YOU IN A RELATIONSHIP?
Yes. Apologies, Am a private person, would prefer not to talk about my personal life.

THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS POPULATED BY MALE, DON'T YOU FEEL INTIMIDATE AT TIMES?
You right and It's not been easy though. But ama strong gal, can takia of masef! Boys beware of moi - ASHNY, am coming and there's no stopping me!
